Kroton Consultant is designed for situations where the complexity of a procedure requires the involvement of people outside the operating room. It is also suitable for consultations with other medical facilities — an encrypted connection and dedicated configuration ensure the security of transmitted data.
Kroton Consultant allows you to:
- select the desired consultant from the list of connected users;
- transmit recordings from the operating room to computers inside and outside the hospital;
- connect several different devices, such as external cameras, endoscopic processors or ultrasound devices, and select one of them for display;
- record videos and capture images from the received video feed;
- discuss, zoom in, select and edit chosen images by participants of the conversation.
The role of streaming in medical practice
The Kroton Consultant audiovisual remote communication device responds to the specific needs of modern medicine. It enables video signals from medical equipment to be transmitted and displayed on any compatible receiving device.
In modern medical practice, the ability to remotely present procedures and obtain immediate consultation from specialists outside the operating room contributes to improved patient care. The system can also help reduce costs — Kroton acts as a single intermediary device between equipment that is already available. It does not require investment in dedicated receivers or cameras. The Kroton Stream Consultant software can be installed on any Windows computer, while the image can be received from existing endoscopes or cameras integrated into operating lamps.
The system can simultaneously display the image from one panoramic camera and one medical device.
Kroton Consultant
Kroton Consultant is used for fast, contact-free consultations from the operating room. The user can view the list of currently available consultants and select one of them. The system then shares the image, while the included equipment enables remote audiovisual communication with the recipient.
The Kroton Consultant software allows users to zoom in on a selected part of the image, switch between sources, and draw or mark directly on the transmitted image by both sides of the conversation.
As a consultation device, Kroton Consultant requires a monitor and headphones with a microphone. The monitor — preferably a touch screen — enables consultant selection and further communication. The Kroton Stream Consultant interface has been designed for convenient use on touch screens, even while wearing protective gloves.
Inputs / outputs
- Optional HDMI or SDI input for video signal acquisition;
- HDMI socket or DisplayPort output for connecting a control monitor, preferably a touch screen;
- Two RJ45 sockets for connecting the LAN network and an additional IP camera;
- Rear USB ports for connecting wireless headphones, a microphone and touch monitor control;
- Front USB port for recording procedures onto external storage media;
- Power socket.
