The Kroton Histero hysteroscopy training phantom was created to offer valuable training in hysteroscopy procedures for beginner gynecologists. The phantom allows safe practice of manual maneuvers on accurately reproduced shapes and sizes of female anatomy. The model is made of specially selected silicone and plastic to faithfully replicate the structure of human tissues and their colors. Kroton Histero provides the opportunity to practice visual-motor coordination related to the use of instruments used in hysteroscopy procedures. This directly translates to reduced pain and trauma for the patient. Training procedures on the simulator result in increased confidence for the doctor during the procedure and shorter procedure duration. A mentor observing the trainee on the trainer can safely assess the level of advancement of their hysteroscopy skills. Thanks to the table-mounted holder and its small size, the phantom allows for easy movement and quick mounting in a new location.
Components of the trainer:
- Main module - including a section of the perineum, vagina, cervix, and a holder for the uterus. The interior is made of soft silicone. Easy to disassemble for cleaning;
- Uteruses with markers - the set includes 5 uterus models with markers inside. The exercise involves sequentially finding the same large and small marker until a loop is completed through all the symbols. An excellent exercise for improving skills in handling optics and cameras;
- Uterus with pegs - has 13 ports into which colored pegs can be inserted. The exercise involves sequentially removing the pegs from the ports using forceps. Allows practicing the use of forceps and optics;
- Silicone uterus with ports - the model has 5 ports clamped with collars. We have the possibility to insert elements into the ports in any configuration such as:
- plugs to simulate normal anatomy,
- anatomical changes made of silicone to demonstrate possible changes occurring in the uterus,
- gel polyps allowing for tugging and removal,
- Bicornuate uterus - a model made of silicone allowing for the demonstration of this anatomical defect;
- Holding bracket - allows for securing the uterus model to the table top by tightening a clamp screw.
The trainer set does not include a visual track, hysteroscope, monitor, or accessories needed for the practiced procedures. It is intended for use with a training visual track and instruments.
