The training phantom for veterinary gastroscopy KROTON ENDO DOG has been created with the aim of providing valuable training for both novice and experienced veterinarians. It corresponds in size to a dog weighing approximately 30 kg, providing the opportunity for safe practice of manual maneuvers. It faithfully reproduces the shape of the upper section of the dog's gastrointestinal tract. The innovative design with 6 ports allows for the creation of various exercise scenarios and the performance of specific procedures. The possibility of connecting the small intestine enables the practice of enteroscopy. The materials used to make the trainer have been carefully selected to most accurately replicate the anatomy of the dog. Made of high-quality silicone, they provide a realistic feel during training, similar to that experienced during a real procedure. The colors of the elements allow for realistic representation of colors during exercises.
The simulator enables practice of stomach examination with both normal anatomy and pathological changes. The pathological changes included with the trainer offer a wide range, covering the most commonly encountered pathologies. The set of changes allows for practicing the most frequently performed procedures. By performing exercises on the KROTON ENDO DOG, we have the opportunity to enhance our skills, which directly translates into better performance of the procedure on the patient. Through prior training of procedures on the simulator, the trainee will feel more confident during the actual examination, and the procedure time will be shortened. Observing a person practicing on the trainer allows for a risk-free assessment of their level of proficiency.
Components of the trainer:
Stomach: It has the shape and size of a dog's stomach after insufflation. Efforts were made to faithfully reproduce the folds of the stomach mucosa. Inside, parts such as the lesser curvature, greater curvature, angular notch, fundus, body, pyloric part, pylorus, cardia, and cardia notch are visible.
Muzzle: The imitating model has been made of specially selected silicone, maintaining natural color and size. This part of the trainer includes teeth, upper and lower jaws, tongue, and epiglottis.
Esophagus: Natural-sized with anatomical curves preserved.
Duodenum: Faithfully reproduced parts include the upper part, descending part, horizontal part (lower), and ascending part. The model shows the major duodenal papilla.
Body: Serves to secure all trainer elements in the desired position. It imitates the positioning of the dog on the left side.
Inserted elements: Along with the trainer, there is a large number of elements inserted into the stomach. Their goal is to provide high educational value and create numerous exercise scenarios. The following types of elements are described:
Blanks: Used to simulate normal anatomy.
Numbers: The set includes 6 inserts numbered from 1 to 6, and the task is to sequentially identify the numbers.
Application of clips to bleeding areas in the stomach.
Stomach ulcers.
Polyps.
Stomach cancer at various stages.
Foreign bodies such as coins, batteries, staples, fishing lures, floats, and screws.
Lubricant.
Organizer for inserted trainer elements.
Blind end for the end of the duodenum.
User manual.
Additional equipment:
Transport case.
Additional set of disposable elements.
The trainer kit does not include a visual track, gastroscope, monitor, or accessories needed for the practiced procedures. It is intended for use with training endoscopes.
