Cholecystectomy (LAP037)

Cholecystectomy (LAP037)

Model intended for practising the laparoscopic cholecystectomy procedure (removal of the gallbladder by means of the laparoscopic method). It includes a life-size model of the liver (made of elastic material, imitating the real human organ) and the gallbladder. The fixing applied allows to practise lifting the liver lobe in order to obtain easier access to the gallbladder. The liver has been fixed to the holder inserted into the training model.

The gallbladder has been made in the form of disposable inserts hooked to the liver model. It includes the following elements:
•    gallbladder
•    common hepatic duct which branches out into the right and left lobe
•    cystic artery
•    cystic duct
•    common bile duct

In order to imitate anatomic details to the best possible extent, all elements have been coated with a gel imitating adipose tissue. The cystic duct and cystic artery allow for separating, clipping and finally cutting.

The model is not fit for practising procedures performed with the use of electrosurgical instruments, i.e. coagulation as well as monopolar and bipolar electrosurgery.
The disposable gallbladder insert gets damaged during the procedure – it is intended solely for performing a single training session. The model includes 5 disposable inserts. Additional disposable inserts may be purchased.
